Family Research
As with all research, I began with present day facts and then worked backward in time. Although I am working to verify every relationship in the family tree, I have not yet accomplished that. I do include names, dates, locations, and relationships that are based on very loose evidence. As I discover new evidence I will add it into these pages. I will also try to make it clear which items are verified by sources.
The Crouch Family
The Crouch family name appears many times in many different locations but the focus of my research is on the family in Virginia back through Colonial America and Great Britain. Much of the family lived in present day Prince William County, Virginia but my research covers locations in Alexandria, Stafford, King George counties and the City of Fredericksburg (all in Virginia). Surnames of ancestors in the Crouch family include: Crouch, Perry, Fearn, Farquharson, Atchison, Sayers, Sears, Fairweather, Spittle, Alsop, Horton, Shelton, Wilson, King, and Sutton.

The Velebir Family
Most of the Velebir family research is concentrated in two geographical locations: Slovakia and North Carolina. The Velebir side, my father's side of the family originated in present day Slovakia; my great grandparents, John (Janos) Velebir and Anna Ihnat migrated from what was Hungary in the 1880s to Illinois. But the research includes Montana, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania as well as the old world. My mother's side of the family, Williams, provides a stark contrast; almost all the research is concentrated in the Carolinas and Virginia back to the earliest days of colonization. Because the boundaries of the Carolinas and Virginia were much broader in the early days of colonization, research includes areas of present day Tennessee and Kentucky. Surnames of ancestors in the Velebir family include: Velebir (Veleber), Williams, Sabanos (Sabanosh), Sabo, Ihnat, Faber, Hagler (Haigler), Love, Polk, Rushing, Little, Szabo, Gollmutz, Mullis, Hendricks, Long, and Welyebir.
